My mother's memoirs
For the past month or so I have been working on a project to assemble memoirs of my mother (who is still very much alive, thank you very much). It all started off a couple of years ago with some audio interviews of her memories of growing up. My father had published a book on his life about ten years ago and we wanted to do something for my mother as well. But struggled to find the right medium for the project.
Last September, when we were moving my parents to a new home, my sisters and I agreed a web site would probably be the best venue for the collection of memoirs, photos and stories. It would allow everyone (especially grandchildren) easy access to the information, allow collaboration from different sources and easy to update.
I am working almost daily on bringing together information from various sources and updating the web site. I am finding it interesting to learn more about my mother's life and filling in some gaps in the chronological timeline. One of the challenges will be to edit all of the material so it is interesting reading. So far, it is just a data and information dump.
I hope to be able to share the site with my mother by the end of this month.
