Recycling soap
This year I have been collecting small scraps of bar soap from our showers and recycling them into new bars. No, the financial situation is not that dire in our household. But it seemed like something worthy to do with the leftover remains of bar soap.
I cut the scraps into small pieces and place in a container in boiling water as a sort of "double boiler" set up. Once the soap has melted I add some almond milk, mix well and pour into the bottom of a red Solo cup. It cools and once free from the mold, requires about a week to cure.
Thereafter we have another bar of soap for the shower.
