Birth congratulations... almost sixty years ago
This weekend I was going through some boxes of photos and paper left to me after my mother died several years ago. I found this telegraph sent from my uncle and his wife as a congratulatory message to my parents.
The reference to naming comes from the fact my first name is Michael and came from my uncle (who was married to my father's younger sister, Lorna. Not "ORNA" as written on the telegraph.
By coincidence this weekend, we happened to be having brunch with Michael and his partner Jean. Michael said he has no memory of sending it but smiled when he read it.
