Blood Pressure Mystery
I have little to no history of hypertension. Yet I have been monitoring my blood pressure over the past couple of weeks and it is on the rise. I suspected my monitor might be giving false readings so I got a new one. And used one at the local pharmacy.
Regardless of the source, I have elevated blood pressure.
I was not able to secure an appointment with our family doctor until next week. Today I went to a nearby walk-in clinic and (three hours later) spoke to a doctor about the issue. She tested my BP (still high), my heart rate and listened to my heart. Since I am absent of any symptoms of hypertension, she didn't seemed overly concerned.
I will continue to monitor my BP over the ensuing days. I feel normal. Just unsure why my BP has escalated.
