Spago Update

Our fourteen-year old Burmese, Spago, is showing some improvement recently as he recovers from pancreatitis, a disease not uncommon in this type of cat. Last weekend he had a check up at the vet after a week of not being fed through a tube. We were pleasantly surprised his weight was slightly up from the week before and the vet decided no blood test was required. Instead of the daily saline injections, he only needs them every other day. That is a relief to all involved.

Spago's appetite remains well below normal, which remains out primary concern. But the vet, Dr. Ueda, assures us Spago is still young and full of life. Some cats may go months without much appetite and suddenly it returns. Dr. Ueda has been very good to us and Spago, keeping Yoshiko's spirits buoyant.
