Advice Columns
It would likely seem uncharacteristic of me to others, and it even surprises me, but I enjoy reading advice columns from time to time. I especially enjoy Dear Prudence at Slate. It really isn't about any morbid interest in other people's problems (at least I hope not). Instead I like to read the questions from readers and then formulate my own answers and opinions before reading the published answers. Sometimes I am close to having the same thoughts and occasionally way off. But advice is never an exact science.
I think I am just curious about my own problem-solving and interpersonal skills. How would I help someone in need? Would I remain objective and supportive?
