What a weekend. Glad it is over.

An eventful weekend in every sense of the word and glad to see Monday finally.

  • Yoshiko dropped a container of cosmetics in the bathroom sink and cracked it, starting a leak. The representative from the manufacturer came by on Saturday to inspect it. It may take a couple of weeks for the replacement to arrive and be installed. Don't start on me about the cost of the replacement and its installation.

  • I picked up a cold last week that developed into a bad cough that prevented me from sleeping at night. About every hour I had to abandon the bedroom so my coughing would not awaken Yoshiko. She finally brought me some prescription patches to help open the breathing in my lungs.

  • Our female cat, Bice, went to the vet for her check up on Saturday. Her condition showed signs of diabetes and stayed in the clinic overnight for initial insulin injections and observations. On Sunday afternoon we returned to the clinic to learn how to give her twice daily injections at home. The vet provided us with all the necessary equipment (so we thought) and we packed up the cat, her cage and her medication and headed home for a late dinner. Exhausted from the events, we had a quiet dinner and a glass or two of wine. After dinner we unpacked the medical supplies and discovered the vet had forgotten to include the insulin. We hopped in a cab and returned to the clinic where a very embarrassed vet was waiting for us.

But, of course, it wasn't all bad stuff. I got a lot of cleaning done on the weekend and a pleasant early morning walk on Sunday to see the autumn colors in a park i central Tokyo.
