20 Years in Japan

Today marks the 20th anniversary of my arrival in Japan. On the morning of March 12, 1993, I stood on the beach in Los Angeles and looked west. Although my original intent was only a temporary assignment in Tokyo, I wondered what adventures lay ahead. It would be my first trip to Asia.

I arrived late in the afternoon on March 13 and watched in fascination from the Airport Limousine Bus as the city got closer under the growing darkness. I had no idea at that point this trip would forever change my life.
