Bice Cheriton, 1996-2014

Our female Bengal cat, Bice, passed away this morning at the age of 17 years 9 months. Although not the oldest of our three cats, she was the first to join our family and will be missed.

Bice was born in San Francisco on October 27, 1996 and I found her through her breeder. Bengals are a fascinating breed and she was my first choice. Bice arrived in Japan in early January 1997, only a couple of months old then. She cried all the way home from the airport and then promptly fell asleep in my arms. She was and alway will be "Daddy's girl".

About four years ago she was diagnosed with Cushing's Syndrome that required her to have twice daily injections, including insulin. She was a good patient, strong and independent, and brought so many happy memories into our lives. Now... no more pain, no more injections and all the mice she wants to chase in heaven.
