Missing Bice and a sudden change...

It is two days since Bice passed away and we miss her terribly. But the change of our daily lives has come very suddenly. For more than three years our lives revolved around her twice daily injections. Her insulin requirements meant at least one of us needed to be at home at 8AM and 8PM every single day.
Traveling together overseas became impossible and dining out was done nearby and usually starting at 6:00 PM. Each of us could handle the process solo as it was occasionally required but having the second person there made it much easier. To our relief, Bice was a great patient and seemed to enjoy the attention from "Mom and Dad" although I doubt the injections were much fun for her.
Now suddenly all that has changed. The routine is gone and I must admit it feels odd. Stuff like that gets ingrained into your life. I don't think it is selfish thing to be relieved it is over since she lived a good life and showed us much love as a pet.
