We live near the Meguro River (目黒川) in Tokyo, which is lined with more than 3 kilometers of cherry trees. This produces both spectacular visuals in the spring... and massive crowds. Fortunately for residents this last only a week at the most.

This year saw the start of another crowd-inducing attraction, this time for the holiday season. A tree along a portion of the river have been decorated with 400,000 LED lights. The lights are on from 5-9 PM nightly although people arrive with their cameras as early as 3 PM.

All this madness ends on Christmas Day.
