I have been planning to add a video resume to my site for months. From my research I understand it needs to be roughly a minute in length. Okay, that is simple.

I set out to create it but encountered some technical challenges. How could I record it with the right background, lighting and sound? I began to research chromakey video editing and borrowed some lighting equipment from a photographer friend. I set up the epuipment in our rural house in Ibaraki for a couple of trial runs.

For the first trial run the results were a disaster. I recorded about thirty videos and constantly made errors with the script. Afterward I watched the raw video and realized I was casting a shadow on the background screen.

For the second trial I adjusted the lighting and did another run at it. I seemed to get it right this time and edited in Final Cut Pro. Not perfect but "perfect is the enemy of good".
