End of the landline

Over the past year I have said farewell to the traditional landline telephone as we wind down our time in Tokyo and prepare for Vancouver. Late last year I got a telephone number in Vancouver but only a mobile number. I see no reason to have a "home number". Yoshiko will get her own mobile number when she gets to Canada.

Last week I cancelled my landline in Tokyo. I almost never receive "important" calls on it. It is an account I have held since returning to Japan in 1996. We lived in three homes during that time and it changed after each move.
