New skates

Today I tagged along with a friend who was taking his hockey skates to be sharpened in preparation for the upcoming season. Having left my old skates behind in Japan, I wanted to buy a new pair for use in Vancouver. The store we visited specializes in hockey and baseball equipment and the skates are often last year's models at discounted prices. While some skates there were up to $500, I got a pair of Bauer skates for just $125.
