Car sharing

Here in Vancouver I am continuing my strategic planning for appropriate car(s) for us. I would like to have a car for each of us but it might be a challenge to replicate our lifestyle in Tokyo. Meaning we can't both have new, luxury high-performance cars. The insurance company here (ICBC) will bankrupt us.

Our current strategy is to have two cars; one as a daily driver and able to haul groceries, etc. without concern about the interior, etc. Likely a used car with low mileage and easy on the fuel. Maybe even an EV. The other will be something we can enjoy driving with a little thrill on the side. Nothing gets the job done better than a little horsepower and touque.

In the meantime we are using public transportation (works fine thank you) and ZipCar membership. Both have their + and - but working well for now. It is always good to have multiple options.
