Being a building manager for a week

We have been renting a condo in Vancouver for the past 18 months as we complete our relcoation here. The building where are living is managed by a lifelong friend Eric and his wife Xiaofen. They have been very supportive and helpful to us during this transition. Unfortunately for them, it has been difficult to take vacation time since is it a challenge to find someone to take over their responsibilites.

When Eric mentioned their desire to take a week's vacation in Mexico this month, I told him I would look after the building in his absence. A couple of hours each day to clean up the public areas and the major chore of taking the garbage bins in and out every Wednesday. I really enjoyed the work and a chance to "pay it back".

Life really is a box of chocolates!
