Cleaning our fireplace

Since the time we moved into our condo almost a month ago I have been trying to figure out how to clean the glass on our natural gas fireplace. It is a corner fireplace and the glass on the shorter side was easy to remove and clean, using a commercial product to remove the cloudy residue. This residue is a result of the impurities in the gas as it burns.
But the front glass challenged me to understand how to remove the frame surrounding the fireplace. I contacted the manufacturer and they sent me the owner manual. However, it didn't help me at all. Finally I contacted one of their service companies in the area. Their technician explained the glass was not designed to be removed for cleaning. One needs to clean the glass from the inside.
Today I hunkered down with the cleaner and several rags... and a good measure of elbow grease in order to clean the glass. I suspect it was the first time the glass has been cleaned since its installation. Great results. Check out the before and after.
