Test riding bikes

On Saturday we went to a neighborhood bike shop to pick up the bike we ordered for Yoshiko. And spent about two hours selecting accessories, etc. for her bike and clothing for her. It was her day and I didn't want to stay there any longer to kick the tires for my own bike. So I went there today when I knew it would be quieter.

I looked at a number of road bikes by Trek and agreed with the manager I should take a test ride on a couple of bikes. Primarily to determine the correct size for me but also to understand how different models feel on the road.

I rode two bikes. The first was a Domane 4.5 in size 60. Nice, nice bike but I sensed it was just a little too small for me. I rode back to the shop and swapped it for a different bike in size 62. Wow! As soon as I began riding this bike I was in love. What a sweet ride, comfortable as anything and the perfect size.

The manager laughed at me when I returned and told her it was the perfect bike. "Of course it is... it's a $6000 bike!" See the Trek Domane 6.2 Disc below.

In my dreams.
