Love the Library
Shortly after moving to Vancouver I got a library card. It is probably thirty years since I frequented a library in Canada. Over that time I transitioned to buying books online and then to e-books with a Kindle. I wondered if there was still a place for libraries.
Much to my surprise the Vancouver Public Library has turned out to be a great resource for me. Instead of buying the books I want to read, I am often able to reserve them and read them for free. Granted there might be a waiting list for popular books but there is always something to read. Not revolutionary but pleased to see the public libraries are evolving.
Through social media and news site I often read book recommendations and first search for them through the VPL. I recently read about the book above and made a request for it online at VPL. I was notified this week it was ready for me. A brand new copy! And a very relevant topic for me.
