Moon over Bowen Island

Early yesterday morning I noticed the full moon setting in the sky to the west and it was casting a light across the ocean. The overnight temperatures have been very chilly this week but I finally decided to walk down to the beach with my camera. Freezing temperatures, icy steps down a steep embankment in the dark alone... what could go wrong? Fortunately I was able to get there okay but things were not on my side. As the sun rose in the east the light became less dramatic. My best zoom lens wasn't sufficient. I lost any reflection on the water. But a well positioned log served as a impromptu tripod.
