拼音 (Pinyin)

I started weekly Mandarin language classes tonight at the local community center. A beginner level course and right from the basics. The teacher is very good and extremely energetic. She came to Canada in 1993 after graduating and working as an engineer in China. She soon discovered she enjoyed teaching more than reading blueprints!

For the first class we worked on the basics of pinyin, the foundation for foreigners to learn Mandarin. I have a lot of learn and much practicing to be done between classes. Wish me luck!
