Gas Stations in Vancouver- A Diminishing Resource

It was recently announced in the news that the remaining gas station in downtown Vancouver is up for sale. Most gas stations in the city are owned by the petroleum companies and they are discovering their real estate is more profitable than selling gasoline and convenience store items. Yes, including firewood.

Several stations have closed recently in our neighborhood in the areas west of Granville, which doesn't surprise me.

However, one of the closest stations to us just completed a year-long renovation. I intend to exclusively purchase our fuel from this Shell station whenever I can in order to show our support. Gas in Vancouver is priced well above the rest of North America so it doesn't really matter where I fill up so I might as well support the local community station.
