Aging MacBook Air
I am not one (at least recently) to be constantly updating my Apple hardware. My needs are simple and the need to pursue faster processors and more memory doesn't live in my universe.
Still, I couldn't help but notice the sluggish performance of my MacBook Air recently. This notebook came with me from Japan (as obvious by the bilingual keyboard) but I thought it was a recent acquisition and should last a few more years.
Today, as part of some software of OS updates, I checked the version of the MBA and was surprised to see it is almost seven years old.
I purchased my first MBA in 2008 shortly after its release. But not before Yoshiko ordered one for herself, much to my surprise. The first version was amazing with its thinness but the performance and functionality was disappointing. In the latter part of 2010 Apple release a new version with a flash drive instead of a hard drive and better ports.
I think I will wait until the WWDC event in June to see what new products are announced.
