Vancouver's new official bird
It was announced today that the Anna's Hummingbird has been named the City of Vancouver's official bird following an online vote. The City describes the hummingbird as "classy, urbane, and stylish with the heart of a tiger". We could not agree more.
These hummingbirds are daily visitors to our patio and the three feeders we have provided for them. Even throughout the winter months when other birds have moved to warmer destinations in the south, the hummingbirds visit us.
