Two year celebration in Vancouver
Today we celebrated the two-year anniversary of our arrival in Canada with an open house for family and friends. We invited family, friends and neighbors to drop by this afternoon for light snacks and drinks. Yoshiko and I spent time over the weekend preparing the food and beverages.
We were pleasantly surprised by how well things went for the party. Almost everyone we invited came and everyone interacted well. The summer weather was a treat and the ocean views were enticing.
We originally suggested to everyone the event would be 3-6 PM and many arrived around 3PM. But following the majority of the departures around 5:30PM, a second round of guests arrived and stayed until 9:30PM, enjoying drinks and conversation on the patio.
It was a great opportunity to reflect on how fortunate we have been since arriving here, the support of friends and family and our life in Vancouver.
