Day trip to Calgary
Today I made a day trip to Calgary for business purposes. Air Canada wasn't exactly on top of their game this morning. First, at the gate they announced it would necessary to do a "change of aircraft", which of course led to a change of gate. Once everyone was onboard we sat at the gate for some time before departure. Then they couldn't get the inflight entertainment system to work for the safety announcement. So they struggled with that for while. Finally they got it to work but only in Spanish. Finally, in the haste to change aircrafts, they neglected to board breakfast.
It was a welcomed break from the smoky conditions in Vancouver and good to be back in Calgary after several years.
Upon finishing meetings downtown I returned to the airport for my flight home. I went to the Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge to relax. I am used to the age-old self-serve bar but was pleasantly surprised to find a full-service bar and several very engaging staff working it. A great customer service initiative by Air Canada.
