A happy Thanksgiving
We enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving this evening with our neighbors and close friends, David and Ann. Once again this year I pre-ordered the dinner from our local butcher so I just had to roast the turkey roll, heat the gravy and prepare the vegetables. "Successful people in life don't do things the hard way".
This year was a chance to unpack and use our fine china and flatware. Hard to believe but I purchased these items when I was just 19 years old. Settings of six in Wedgewood's "California" and gold flatware. I was working part-time at a department store at the time and it entitled me to a 15% discount. But it still almost made me broke. While my friends were spending their money on drugs, fast cars and stereo equipment... I was concerned with having the right stuff for entertaining.
Sometimes the right decisions earlier on will pay off later in life.
On the other hand, why I have two teapots, two sugar bowls and two creamers remains a mystery. I will need to use my creativity for this dilemma.
