Car repairs

This afternoon I took our car to the repair shop for an estimate on the damages from the incident over the weekend. I chose to use the same shop that repaired the car from a hit-and-run last year since they did great work. Judging by the cars inside the shop, they work on many high end luxury cars.

The final estimate was almost $4K, close to what I was expecting. In advance I contacted my insurance broker to review our coverage. They told me if I made a claim against my insurance for the damage, my premiums would increase roughly $7K over the next three years.

My car goes to the shop next week for repairs and an estimated two or three weeks to be completed.

When I left the shop I found my car to be nervously waiting in the company of some related patients at the shop for repairs.
