The day started of with the late (ahem) arrival of the staff to clear out the debris from the old floor removal. I keyed off the elevator for them and it took them about two hours to haul away the wood, etc. Nice guys and I think they appreciated we offering some cold water during their work. One of them told me as they were leaving, "Your place is going to look fantastic!"
Throughout the afternoon the tradesman checked the level of the floor and we talked about the placement of the tiles. The direction of the tiles would have an impact on the look but also how they would fit along walls and in corners. It was obvious he didn't want to make the decision for us but I could tell when he thought we made good decisions.
A long way to go yet but it is starting to look optomistic. And today is the first day of dry weather.
