Conceiving a baby Bolt EV
We are expecting a bouncing baby Chevrolet Bolt EV! I received notification from our dealer that our 2018 Chevy Bolt EV went into production today. It will be built at GM's Orion Assembly plant in Orion Township, Michigan. The battery/drivetrain, HVAC and instrument/Infotainment systems are produced by LG at Incheon, South Korea.
It should be here in Vancouver by the end of June.
Our model will be a Cajun Red Premier model with all the options. The only post-production additions will be a trailer hitch to accommodate a bike rack.
As usual, timing is everything. This spring fuel prices in Vancouver are at a record-high. I suspect the demand for EV's will only increase now. In addition, recently a Level 3 charging station was installed nearby. This will complement the many Level 2 charging stations at UBC Parking areas.
