Upper Endoscopy
This morning I arose early and went to St. Paul's Hospital for an upper endoscopy performed by my GI doctor. I saw her on February 14 and today was the first available day for the procedure.
Because you are given a mild sedative, you are required to have someone come and take you home afterward. They will not proceed without the name and phone number of that person. And they have to be present when you leave. My good friend and neighbor came (again) to rescue me this morning.
I remember some of the procedure but not much and had a good snooze afterward in recovery. I was pretty much out of it for the rest of the day. Written instructions from the hospital advise not to "sign any legal documents or make important decisions" today. Fair enough.
Back to full strength tomorrow!
