Puppy Visit
We made an overnight trip to a farm outside Olympia, Washington to visit a litter of Miniature American Shepherd puppies. I contacted the breeder (recommended by a local breeder) earlier in the year but she had no puppies available. Then in mid-May I received a message from her that the puppies were being born.
The breeder encouraged us to come and see the puppies. In her words, "Look at the entire litter and find the best match for you". Also, I wanted to meet the parents so we knew the type of personality we should expect.
The decision was more difficult than either of us expected. The puppies were sleepy and not crazy about the idea of being taken out of the shelter. Two of them seemed to select us and were very playful. A female blue merle and a male brown/black/white cuttie. In the end we decided on the female.
She is too young to come home with us on this trip. We will return on July 13 for that journey.
Her name will be "Tofino".
