My animal shelter visit

Today I visited the city animal services location in order to get a dog license for Tofino. I completed the paperwork, paid the fee and got a tag. Before I left the counter I had a brief conversation with the staff about Aussie Shepherds. At that point someone entered the office with an Aussie Shepherd on a leash. A beautiful black and white female, about two years old by my guess.

He explained that his roommate had left on vacation a month ago and never returned for the dog. He said he was no longer able to care for her. I am sure the staff at these shelters have heard everything by now.

I kneeled down to her level and bonded with her. She was so kind and friendly, even though the person thought she had been abused. I would have adopted her on the spot if I could. She would have been a good sister for Tofino

I walked out the door and back to my car where it took me several minutes to regain my composure. Every day brings a difference experience.
