Pink Sweater

In my mid-20's I owned and wore a pink wool sweater. I can't say why I purchased it but it certainly appealed to me. I was selective about when I wore it but looking back at some photos around that time... it was a favorite item.

I endured some jokes about it. I also was aware it created some uncertainty and speculation about my sexuality. Whatever. A different time for these issues.

The most surprising (and satisfying) influence of this sweater was the reaction from women. I am too modest to discuss details but suffice it to say most women seemed to be drawn to someone confidence enough to wear pink.

This photo was taken in Paris around 1986. And the women in Paris were very forward in their approach to this young man in their city.
