Section Sofa

Yoshiko has been after me for more than a year to buy a section sofa for our main living room area. Three years ago, shortly after moving into our condo, we went on a shopping spree to furnish the place. We purchased a beautiful, if not well-functional, Natuzzi leather sofa. Wonderful to gaze up but less so as an inviting place to sit.

Shortly after the new year we visited the same furniture store again to see what they were offering as section sofas. We thought this would be a good match for the living room space.

We tried several styles, brands and configurations... and we ended up back with Natuzzi. Their sectionals offered lots of customization options for fabrics, sizes and accessories. If we were willing to custom-order the sofa and wait four to six months for delivery. We opted to "sleep on it" for a few weeks.

Fast forward to this week when we had an appointment to return to the store for further discussions. In the interim I carefully measure our living room area and took some photos to show the staff.

Much to our surprise at the store, they had received a sample sectional and were anxious to move it off the floor. Read: lots of incentives. I helped the salesperson move the sections around until we found the right configuration for our living room. And the deal was done. Instead of waiting months for our sectional to arrive from Italy, it will be delivered next Friday.

After much deliberation with Yoshiko, we also ordered two leather cushions to complement the cloth cushions.
