Painting Project- Day 1
It is three years since we moved into our Vancouver condo. Since that time we have a lot of work on the interior including new floors, new lighting, blinds and so on. We always planned on having the place repainted. Early in the work I asked a painter to do the work and he dictated to me the terms during which he would do it. Including severe penalties for postponement.
A year later I decided I would do the painting myself after a trying experience of having new flooring installed. I remember saying to myself, "Even I could a better job..."
In February I handled the task of contracting the interior painting of our condo building by commercial painters. I was impressed by their work and asked the lead painter if he could recommend someone for residential work. He recommended himself. However his follow up and commitment to the work was disappointing. I went back to the president of the company and he immediately found another team for the work.
Today he came to start the work, which included some test samples of three colors we were considering for the walls. Once dried Yoshiko and I looked at the colors and reluctantly declared none of them fit what we wanted. He just wanted a shade and/or color close to what we already had on the walls... a neutral and soft grey.
He cut out a sample of the existing paint from the wall and promised to find a match.
Real painting starts tomorrow.
