Weeding in the rain
Today was my fourth shift as a volunteer at the nearby UBC Farm. It was a rainy day but the rain eased up a little in the afternoon while we were working. It turned out to be a better working environment than the heat and sun experienced during recent working shifts... even if it required waterproof gear.
We worked in a field of oak trees, removing weeds and grass, where the farm is attempting to cultivate truffles. Later we brought mulch to the apple orchard and then more work to remove the Japanese knotweed from the farm.
