One year since we met Tofino

One year ago we drove to a farm outside Olympia, WA to see a litter of Miniature American Shepherd puppies. They were too young to leave home but the breeder encouraged us to meet them and have first choice. She cautioned us that puppies choose their owners, not the other way around.

My initial preference was a blue merle... and there was only one in the litter. But once at the farm with all of the puppies, the choice became increasingly difficult. All beautiful animals and how does one select a puppy to raise, train and co-exist for many years ahead?

I can't explain it rationally but the female blue merle captured me... err us?? and we were sold. I just knew she was the one. Two weeks later we returned to the farm and brought her home to Vancouver.

She is Tofino and the absolute love of our lives. I cannot image life without her. She has a younger brother, Bacio, and they are inseparable.
