#41 Buses in Edmonton, Tokyo and Vancouver

Growing up in Edmonton I frequently used the bus service and the closest route to our home in Belgravia was the #41 bus (originally the S1), which ran to the downtown area and later out to NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. I understand the route was retired and the #41 route starts from Southgate now.

Living for almost 23 years in Tokyo, public transportation was a daily experience. One of the buses that stopped nearby our condo in Aobadai was the #41 bus, which travelled from Shibuya to Oimachi Station. And the bus I used most frequently of the many that stopped at our bus stop.

Now here in Vancouver we are living at UBC and have the UBC Transit Exchange about five minutes away. At least ten different bus routes start from this exchange and provide access to destinations throughout the Lower Mainland. And, you guessed it, the #41 bus has service from UBC. It goes to Joyce-Collingwood Station, not far from Metrotown.

Some people will point out that I also living in Los Angeles and Dallas but everyone knows no one in these cities takes a bus. :-)
