Spago Recovering

Earlier this month our cat Spago did a face plant after a failed jump from the sofa to the kitchen counter, breaking a tooth in the process. It required some dental surgery to ensure there was no chance of infection. He spent a week or so at the clinic before returning home. But he also required a tube through his nose to his stomach for feeding and receiving medication.

In the past Spago has had the tube but his appetite always returned upon coming home. The recovery this time has been much. much slower. Three weeks later and he still has the tube. Four feedings daily of pureed cat food, including medicine twice. The vet wants to keep the tube in for another two weeks since the medicine Spago needs is only in powder form.

Spago has started to eat his own cat food on his own. We hope the tube can be removed by early July and he will be ready to make the trip to Vancouver.
